Greeting someone formally

-  Good morning. My name is Steven. It’s a pleasure to meet you.
-  Good morning. I’m Dr. Watson. Please, take a seat.
-  Thank you

Greeting someone informally
-   Hi. How are you?
-   I’m fine thanks. How are you?
-   Very good. Where are you going?
-   To the shops.
-   Ok. Have a good day. I’ll see you later.
-   Thanks. Bye

Formal introduction

-   Mrs. May: Good morning. I’d like you to meet 
Mr. Jones
-  John:         How do you do, Mr. Jones?
-  Mr. Jones: How do you do? It’s a pleasure to meet you
-  Mrs. May:  Mr. Jones is a pianist.
- John:          How delightful. I’d love to hear you play
- Mr. Jones:  Of course

Informal introduction
-          Steve: Who’s that with Jim?
-          Pete:   That’s Julie Smith. I thought you knew her.
-          Steve:  No, I’ve never met here.
-          Pete:   Then I’ll introduce you. Julie, this is Steve. He’s a friend of mine.
-          Julie:    Hi. How are you doing, Steve?
-          Steve:  Good thanks. Why don’t you sit with us?
-          Julie:    Ok, thanks.
